Lessons Learned
Successes
- I learned a deeper layer of WordPress mechanics.
- I deeply enjoyed practicing project management standards.
- My project management operational infrastructure is stronger which will make future projects more efficient.
Challenges
- It was harder to build something for myself because of the inherent difficulty in talking about one’s self. This was not something that I thought about as a risk.
- Using WordPress boxed me in to using pre-made themes since I don’t know how to write PHP. It may be a good project to learn PHP and then blog about it. For now, in the backlog of project ideas.
- There is a design flaw on the mobile version of the site which is driving me insane and makes me want to learn the language just to fix it, but it is truly not a priority.
Recommendations
- Continue making project plans and utilizing the current infrastructure!
